Once Upon a Time

Straight from Season 1, Once Upon a time has amazed audiences with bringing in such famous and loved fairy tale characters. The Evil Queen cursed all the fairy tale characters and sent them to a place called Storybrooke.  What people don’t actually know is that long before Regina was born, her mother Cora (Queen of Hearts) fell in love with Rumpelstiltskin, Cora was set to marry a king which would make her queen. Cora broke up with Rumpelstiltskin by ripping out her own heart. As Cora did not have her heart, she was able to do all these heartless evil things. Regina told Snow White a secret that Snow told to Cora, the secret was that Regina was in love with Daniel the stable boy and they were going to run away together, Cora crushed his heart in front of Regina and the day after Regina married the king. From that moment, Regina became The Evil Queen. Snow White and Prince Charming had a daughter called Emma, in order to protect her they sent her through a magic wardrobe abandoning her for 28 years. Emma met a man named Neal, who was in fact the son of Rumpelstiltskin. Emma got arrested and while in prison, she had a son who she named Henry. Emma put him up for adoption. Henry was then adopted by Regina.

Season 2 saw outsiders Tamara and Greg Mendell attempt to destroy Storybrooke.  They failed but they captured Henry and took him to Neverland. This saw all the characters that we know have to work together, Hook, Prince Charming, Snow White, Emma, Regina, and Rumpelstiltskin. They managed to save Henry and return back to Storybrooke. We now move to Season 3, where Zelena (The Wicked Witch of the West) is introduced. Zelena is actually the half-sister of Regina as Cora had Zelena first but gave her up as Queen Ava (Snow White’s mother) told the king about Cora being pregnant.

The family tree in Once Upon a Time is very fractured and confusing. It goes like this:

Henry’s parents are Baelfire/Neal and Emma

Henry’s grandparents by birth are Rumpelstiltskin, Hook, Milah, Snow and Charming

Henry’s great grandparents by birth are Ruth and Leopold

Regina was Snow’s step mother which would make her Henry’s step great grandmother, and Cora and Henry Sr would be his step great great grandparents.

As Zelena was introduced, she would be his aunt as she and Regina are half- sisters.

We are now in Season 4 of Once Upon a Time. The 3 Queens of Darkness have been introduced. They are Ursula the Sea Witch, Maleficent, and Cruella De Vil.

This season is going to be such a good season, how the characters will defeat all three Queens is going to be spellbinding to watch.
