The
Malaysian plane crash that has been broadcasted internationally has shocked
thousands and left families distraught. There were a total of 227 passengers
that included 153 Chinese and 38 Malaysian, which is on the MH 370 Passenger
Manifest that puts into detail the name, the nationalities, and the ages of the
different passengers. There were also two male passengers who were travelling
using stolen passports apparently stolen from an Austrian and an Italian in
Thailand in 2012 and 2013. In my opinion, the interesting issues about the
plane crash is that there is a document that can actually tell you the names,
nationalities and ages of all the passengers who were on the plane. This could
be important information as it could be used to find the lost passengers.
This
story has interested me as putting yourself in the shoes of the families who
are distraught and worrying is something difficult to think about. It’s tough
to think what these family members are going through. Hopefully these
passengers will be found. This story has made me feel really sympathetic and
empathetic because to lose your family for such a long time is the worst
feeling, what makes it worse is the fact that you don’t even know if the
passengers are dead, unconscious or badly injured. There have been no posts on
social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter. In my opinion, this seems
quite peculiar because when the London Riots happened back in 2011, social
networking sites played a big part in the continuation of the London Riots by
youths making statues on Facebook, Twitter and using Blackberry Messenger to
pass messages around. I wondered to myself were the London Riots more important
than the Malaysia Crash. It doesn’t seem right that people aren’t making
statuses or tweets about the Malaysia Crash to pass the information around
internationally. I can’t believe people think the London Riots is more
important than the Malaysia Crash.
